Our Story
From Studio Decks to Archival Mission
The idea behind our workshop started with a simple realisation while listening to Frank Zappa’s Cheaper Than Cheep, a project built on archived tape and film that, without digital archivists, could have been lost to time.
As an audio engineer passionate about analogue audio preservation, it hit home how much incredible music sits unheard on degrading reels. Imagine a local band scraping together every last cent for studio time, mix revisions and mastering, only to run out of funds for distribution. The master tape gets shelved, placed into deep storage to slowly deteriorate.
We don’t believe those recordings should be forgotten. What started as a personal collection of vintage playback hardware evolved into a specialised tape digitisation workshop. Our mission is simple: offer high fidelity transfers that give physical media a permanent digital future

Whether it’s a 2″ multi-track studio master from an obscure band or a cherished family voice recording. Every reel and cassette that enters our care receives meticulous, archive level attention.
Restoration Before Playback
True analogue audio preservation requires physical care before digital capture. We inspect, bake, and repair brittle tape prior to playback to ensure signal purity without risking damage to the original media.

Magnetic tape was never made to last forever. By bringing vintage hardware through precision digital conversion, we safeguard rare studio sessions and personal memories before physical degradation takes them away forever.
Looking Ahead
Building for the Future
Working from a dedicated workshop space, we currently handle transfers for open reel and cassette formats, with plans to relocate to a larger city facility within the coming year.
To support our commitment to analogue audio preservation, we are actively looking to expand our bench to support DAT, ADAT and 1″ formats.
